DUI Arrests reduced from prior years
There are two recent press releases from CDOT, linked below, but which appear to be important for drivers. One, is the obvious annual enforcement effort by police, called either “Click it or Ticket”, or “Heat Is On”. Each of these enforcement priorities went into effect at the end of May, and focuses on increasing traffic stops and citizen contacts to enforce things like seat belt violations; but more importantly, creates more investigative opportunities for police engaged in these stops for minor violations.
CDOT noted that DUI arrests are down 5% over previous years; but also noted that Adams and Denver counties are the highest in the state for DUI arrests.
